But make no mistake, the Futura doesn't just look cool, it's proven to BE COOL!A thermal study conducted for LapWorks by the California Polytechnic University at Pomona concluded that the Futura reduces heat build-up by up to 20%. Unfolded, the Futura spans your lap providing a stable work surface and protecting you from excess notebook heat which can be hazardous to your health. Folded, the Futura can be used on a desk or table. The Futura has 5 incline positions for greater typing comfort. The inclines elevate your screen by as much as 3-3/4" closer to eye level. At 3/8" thin and weighing just 16-1/4 ounces, it fits comfortably on your lap. Note: For use with an external mouse, we recommend the Laptop Desk 2.0 or Laptop Desk UltraLite due to their larger mousing areas. If there is a raised protrusion in the center of the bottom of your notebook, it may be unstable sitting on a Futura that is folded for desktop use. If your notebook has this design, the Laptop Desk 2.0 is a better choice due to the difference in the position of its rubber pads.

WHAT A RIP OFF! A nice idea and it does what they say, but, within a week the clips to make it a desk top stand broke off. I contacted Lapworks several times and no response. They also sent me a customer satisfaction email and I let them know my issue and no response. I continued to use the product as a desk top but ... Read More

It is very lightweight. I love the fact that it folds in half. The texture of the top is great for keeping equipment from slipping.

Very pleased with this product. Made from a medium-weight plastic, it supports my laptop in a flat or angled (raised) position. The rubber pads prevents the laptop from slipping. This item is great, it provides a barrier to heat on a flat surface nicely, but provides multiple angles for easy typing and stores easily in a computer bag. I love mine and have not found anything about it that I don't like....
