My husband needed an extra docking station that he could use in his vehicle and Amazon.com had the best price compared to many.

I often use this to record a show if I am busy elsewhere. It works very well for recording, but the menu is sometimes a hassle. Also, I believe that you have to have the cable box set on the correct channel to record.

I have had this device since February 2008. When I received it, there was a little rattle that I could hear, but it worked fine. After about a month of use, all of the sudden it would not work. It would charge the Archos fine, but no output to the TV. I contacted Archos and they had me send it in, on my dime.

This DVR station is the best complement for the Archos 605 because it charges the device in about 3 hours. Its really smaller than I thought and really light.
