This was a birthday gift for my dad, who is in a nursing home. He loves music and sings most of the time. When in his room, unless the tv is on, it is very quiet. Got this as gift for my daughter-hoping she can use it with her ipod, but only mp3's can be attached. So, I put it in living room in a shelf, but it needs more head room as the cd slides up to open.didn't do all the homework:D
