Despite the Altec Lansing name, these tiny, very lightweight speakers perform poorly. My expectations about USB "digital sound" speakers is that one plugs in the USB cord, the speakers are recognized, and sound comes out of them. I was dissappointed with this product. Frankly my notebook inbuilt speakers are better than these. I dont know why Altec want to spoil there brand by having these kind of products around.
Unless someone wants to throw his money in drain don't go for this

For a set of speakers that only use the USB cable for power (what I wanted), these perform very well, indeed. No complaints. I'd recommend them to anyone. Excellent value and very compact.
