Okay, I know there have been a few negative reviews, but for the life of me I can't understand why. The shaft is too long for my 12V socket and it would not snap in far enough to engage the metal tabs on the side of the adapter. I'm not sure if there's something unusual about the cigarette lighter adapter in my Ford Escape Hybrid, but this dual outlet plug adapter didn't fit in far enough for the side contacts to touch where they needed to for the power to go through it.
