Rating: - Cable induced microphonics are way too intrusive
Be warned that whenever the cord moves, you will hear it through these ear phones; it really intrudes upon the music being played with your portable player, such as an ipod. As a result I could not enjoy any positive aspects that these ear phones possess.
Rating: - Great sound, poor quality wires
These headphones have great quality sound for the price you buy them. They're a bit better than the sound from Skullcandy's smokin' buds (which are a REAL bargain when it comes to price and the quality you get). I happen to be a fan of skullcandy headphones, but I'm kind of shocked at the quality of the wire. The smokin' buds that I used to have had a double cord. They were very durable, and even through wrapping them around my iPod, they lasted me for about a year- probably would have lasted even longer if I hadn't wrapped them around my iPod. Anyhow, I wouldn't even dream of wrapping these 'phones 'round my iPod. From the start, if I would bump the bottom of the cord (even very lightly) against something, the sound in the right ear crackles, and occasionally stops. I have to position my iPod in my purse a certain way, so that this doesn't happen with the cord. The "old-fashioned" double-cord had gotten the idea right. MP3 players are perfectly compatible with them, and they shouldn't have come up with cords that try to imitate apple's cheap earbud's cords (they lasted for only about 3 months for me) I'm practically waiting for these ones that I bought to break...it's only a matter of time, even though I'm handling them very carefully. After they do, I think I'd switch back to the smokin' buds...unless they changed them too...
Rating: - feedback from the wire! avoid!!
As others have noted, these earbuds have issues with feedback from the wire. It is just as annoying and distracting as the others say. I wish I had read these reviews before I bought them. I don't know what the guys at The Absolute Sound (which gave these buds an excellent review) could have been thinking. Avoid these earbuds!! Yeah, they sound pretty good - if you're sitting absolutely motionless. But if you move at all, if the wire even brushes your shirt, you'll hear it.
Rating: - Titan Earbuds
I recently bought the Titan earbuds as an upgrade to my ink'd earbuds. I like them. the fit into the ear well, they come with silicon and foam earbud replacements. They sound good with both of my ipods. the only complaint i have (very minor) is that i ordered the macred in order to match the ipod case i bought that is black with red stripes, and the mac red is more of a dark fushia color. I'm over it now...
