Rating: - Review of Creative Zen 4 GB
I had problems with the first Creative Zen that I purchased from Amazon--it froze. Returning it to Amazon was a quick and easy process., and within a few days I had a replacement. That was about three weeks ago, and this Zen has worked perfectly. I wanted it mainly for listening to music and books, so I can't comment on the video or photos feature. I 'rip' CDs into the Zen and they go into the 'Albums' section; as I finish listening to a chapter, I delete it. For someone who listens to books, this is an excellent player. If I pause the chapter and forget to go back to it, the player shuts off. When I turn it on again, I simply hit the pause button, and I'm back to where I left off. I've heard that some other players go back to the beginning of the chapter. The sound is very good. The Zen is really an easy player to learn to use, which was important to this non-techie. I'm very happy with Amazon for allowing me to return the first Zen without any hassle, but then I've always had a good experience ordering from them. My purchases always arrive within days of ordering.
Rating: - MUCH BETTER VALUE THAN IPOD
Only thing I dont like about this product is the charging method(thru your computers usb port) I would much rather have replaceable AAA batteries..but overall, an outstanding product.

I bought this for my best friends birthday, unfortunately I odrered it too soon from Amazon, and can't return it to them (I ordereed it a month before his bday and it can only be exchanged within 30 days). It worked for three days then froze up reqiring a reboot, loosing all stored music and video, and even though the firmware was updated before it was used, the manufacturer claims (through its automated customer service) this is the problem. After three reboots, it stopped working completely. Repeated phone calls and emails to Zen have been useless - if you email customer service you get into a mobius loop of automated emails and useless suggestions, and no follow up by the company (and no information on how to exchange or return it). Don't get suckered into buying from a company that dosn't care about you enough to spend two minutes to answer your emails or phone calls. If you do buy one - get an extended warantee through the seller, 'cause you'll probably need it.

While charging the player, i can't listen to the songs..its a biggest problem for me..as i do charging and listening simultaneously while I go in my car.Other than that..Iam good with this player.
