I finally decided to move up from my old 6 gb ipod mini (which still works even after dropping it on the cement, just wanted more storage) and so far I really love this 160 gb classic. I don't find the touchwheel that much different, maybe "slightly" stickier, but if you have two functioning hands it shouldn't be a big deal. I love the display and the battery seems to be holding a much longer, efficient charge than my old mini.
I have one gripe. I have a Dice interface for my car stereo, which runs through the CD changer. It was installed professionally to work with my old Ipod mini. I figured I could just plug the new classic in and it would work just the same as the mini. Wrong! It works, but you can't scroll to go to a specific artist or song. It just starts playing all the songs on the classic ipod in a random order. After some research on the net, I saw that this is a common problem with the Dice interface and the new Ipod classic. So, I will probably have to get a new interface/input for the car, which is a drag.
One more thing, the price on Amazon is $50 less than at the Apple store.

This product is just great! Very easy to use. I waited a long time to purchase an I-pod because of the cost. I must say this is one of the best purchases I have ever made. The memory capacity is incredible. If you are hesitating on this purchase -- just do it. I have downloaded almost my entire music library and haven't even come close to using up the memory. I also purchased a Bose docking station and the two together are just fantastic.

I have been comtemplating purchasing an iPod for several years. Finally convinced myself. This holds all my music (22GB so far). The sound quality is good although I use my own headphones and not the supplied earbuds. The menu navigation is reasonable but I find the controls to be a bit sensitive. The battery on this version has good life. You already know about iPod's so I am not going to convince you to purchase one or pass on it. But, if you buy one, get a case AT THE SAME time. Don't take it out of the box without putting it directly into a protective case. The back and screen scratch easily. These things are small and can get easily damaged by being banged about.

I love my iPod and I'm so glad I got it. I haven't had any problems with it at all. The earbuds that came with it were a little janky but you should always upgrade your headphones anyway. I got some noise-canceling ones and the sound is awesome. This is a great product, just keep it up to date on all its software updates.
