I've had my ipod for six months now and at first I loved it right up until the problems began. After buying 2 games, my ipod froze up while playing one of the games and indicated that I needed to email customer service in order to restore my ipod. Luckily, I plugged it into my computer to charge the battery, and after about 15 minutes, the ipod reset itself and I did not loose any music at all.
The second problem I have with this ipod and I own a nano as well. If your computer crushes, it is difficult finding the correct software to purchase in order to get your songs back from your ipod onto your new computer (Itunes Library). Once you purchase this software all of your songs still are not transferred back onto your computer.
The third problem is Apple recently came up with a software update that automatically downloaded Safari(Apple's search engine) onto my computer and it ended up deleted all of my yahoo icons and search engines. The Safari software nearly crashed my computer so just be caution about your apple ipod software updates and read the very long disclaimer before downloading or updating anything or you could destroy the settings on your computer.

Ok so I was all proud my first "real"(not nano which didn't have this problem) I-Pod and its great for about the fist 3 months then the battery problems begin..I fully charge(overnight) use it about 3 1/2 hours put it to sleep and even lock it so the screen doesn't come on ..Just how the apple web site says ,right? well I never come out with more than 1/2 charge and sometimes its so drained I have no i-pod for the 45 minute commute home. so to sum it up on audio only with only a 5 second screen back light and minimal track switching I have less than 8 hours play time and a hold time of about 16-18 hours but occasionally less than 8. I used to be a really pro apple person but this has totally soured me on them. now what do I do spend 100 dollars having apple install another crappy useless battery in my unit? I didn't buy applecare because when I buy something I shouldn't EXPECT it to break in under 6 months!

As always, anyhting from Apple is awesome. Ipod sounds great, looks great, easy to handle. Videos clear, pictures perfect.
Rating: - Not for Audio-Books
I returned the Zoon (horrible software), within a week, and replaced it with iPod 80 Gb. Well, I didn't realize until too late, that iPod is an iTunes-pay-per-Song-Delivery-Device. In other words it is not a personal recorder where you can download your legally owned stuff. It scrambles the tracks. This may not be an issue for music tracks, but for audio-books it is a disaster. As a matter of fact, unless you want to listen to music only, from iTunes (pay again for music), this device is a Frustration-Device.
