These speakers are relatively modest in price, but seem to work quite well. Easy to install on my existing PCI sound card, and they have a good sound. I have been using them now for about 4 weeks.
Rating: - "It Is What It Is"
For those of you who want to use this for HDTV, I suggest a "Boostaroo," from "Radio Shack." It is a 3 way splitter amplifier. It doubles the
volume of the "540" and evens out the volume between front and center
speakers. It is easy to connect. Just plug the mini plug into earphone
input, then plug the green, black and orange plugs into the splitter. Using the earphone input allows you to adjust the volume with the TV remote. Also using the splitter amplifier, makes it not necessary to use
game control adapter they sell. The splitter amplifier sells for $25.49,
and can be used to boost Ipods, MP3s, CDs or just a 3 way headphone amp.
The splitter seems to add the mids that are needed. Some of the reviews
I read, said the center speaker is to loud. You can add a volume control
to the center speaker.If any one cares, my friend has $$$$$$$ in his
surround set up and I don't hear $$$$$$$ worth of difference. Better yes,
but not for the $$$$$$$$.
