This connector rocks! It's noticeably better than the old mini to RCA connector I was using when hooked up to my onkyo receiver. Definitely worth the few extra $.

I tried expensive cables that connect via the IPOD's headphone plug but the sound quality was poor. These cables bypass the headphone amp in the IPOD and the result is better sound. In terms of this particular set of cables, it is hard to get too exited. They seem reasonably made and work.
A built in charger/docking station would be better, but this is a much more cost effective solution, given the outrageous prices vendors want for cheaply made Apple ipod accessories. If you can live with the playing time being limited to the IPOD's battery life, this is the way to go.
Note: Don't expect a lot if you are playing back songs ripped at 128kb, the sound quality is really poor when compared with a CD.
