Rating: - not entirely as advertised
First I love Creative products and the fact you need no cables, just connect it.
There are issues with this one to be aware of before you buy.
1- False advertising, it says it is USB 2, it is not. You can use it one an usb 2 connection, but it does not have the speed of the 2.. It took almost 1 hour to load 2gb onto it.
2- Cheap feel and look with the plastic batter cover, questionable long life capability.
3- Volume restriction. Its max volume is lower than normal, most players will blast my ears, this one does not seem to output as much. Especially in a vehicle.
4- The software/firmware seems like a step back, slower startup, slower or less controls.
Overall it is a cheap buy, and you get what you pay for. It will work and like fine for you. I gave it a 1 star because the false advertising. It is so slow to load music on. Yes it will still work fine, just in todays age, I expect everything to be an advancement in forward progression, getting better. This seems like they are candy coating it saying look 2gb, usb2 and cheap price. But it feels like a first generation mp3 player, not the revised product you expect.
Dont let me talk you out of it, but weigh your options, read reviews of people who use it, and check the creative web site to see any problems or annoyed customers. Normally I do, but this time I jumped at the candy coating and it left a bad taste with me.
Best wishes

Daughter had her's plugged into the USB port of her computer at work. Forgot about it and left it there over the weekend. Somebody stole it and she is UPSET! Gave it to her as a Xmas present last year & she totally loved it! Said it downloaded music very quickly and was easy to use. Normally I wouldn't automatically replace a stolen item...but she truly enjoyed this and it costs less than the one I bought last year. I know this will be a welcomed gift!
Rating: - My iPod is now a paperweight
I purchased a 20 gb iPod about two years ago and have listened to it pretty much non-stop since then. It does hold a lot of music, but let's face it- that thing is big. In spite of myself, I started to miss having a simple flash mp3 that is, well, small. I almost purchased another iPod product, but then the new iTunes update ate up my music library. Yes, you read that right. It's all gone.
So now I'm back to mp3/WMA/WAVE format for my music and glad to be back, that's for sure. The Creative Labs MuVo is perfect for what I use it for, which is just about everything. I listen to it when I work out, when I run, while I'm riding my motorcycle, driving in my car, shopping, sitting in class, enduring a wedding ceremony, you name it. If I'm awake (or trying to appear to be), then chances are good that I'm listening to music. The MuVo goes everywhere, easily. It's SMALL, about the size of a butane cigarette lighter, but weighs less. It uses plug-and-play technology, meaning that you simply pop off the cap, plug it into your USB port and can drop and drag your music, or data files, or whatever onto it. It's SIMPLE. Even my mom could figure it out, and she's not exactly "in to technology" if you know what I mean. It does have some good features, such as being able to organize your music into folders, change the graphic equalizer to suit your taste, a microphone that actually records lectures pretty well, and best of all, it's not proprietary, meaning that you don't have to dedicate your entire existence to Apple or whoever in order to upgrade it or just use it. Seriously, it's so intuitive and user-friendly and versatile that you can go to a friend's house, plug it into their USB port and simply drag and drop music onto this player. Also, it uses a single AAA battery, which is truly nice. I remember having to ration my time spent listening to my iPod because I didn't pack along all of my recharging stuff, and I didn't want my battery to run down. That's no longer a concern with the MuVo- I just pack along an extra AAA battery and voila, I can listen to it however much I want. By the way, the AAA battery in the MuVo lasts a LONG time. I'd estimate about 20 hours or so. It doesn't have the fancy color screen that can show videos or pictures or anything like that, but it does have a perfectly functional black and bluish screen that is backlit, easy to read and doesn't drain a lot of battery juice to run. Basically, the MuVo is a no-nonsense music player/flash memory that works flawlessly and is easy to use. It's inexpensive, compared to what else is out there, and is so small that you can stick it in the little tiny jeans pocket there on the front right hand side- the little square one, and never know it's there. It actually comes in a 1 Gb model as well, and it costs about $48 at WalMart. Looking for a stocking stuffer for your kids? Hint hint. The only thing I can think of that would make it even better would be if it came in any, ANY other color besides white. Since it's white, it looks too much as if it's trying to be some sort of iPod knock-off, which I dislike. Why can't it be blue, or red, or lime green? I'd have purchased two or three at that price, if it came in other colors. Besides THE COLOR, it's perfect. Highly recommended, especially if you're new to the whole mp3 thing and want something that is fool-proof.
Rating: - A Great mp3 player for Linux users
This is a great player to have especially if you're like me and use Linux. Since there is no proprietary iTunes type software to use, you can mount this as a simple USB drive and copy files over using the shell or any file manager you want (Nautilus, Thunar, etc). Or you can do what I do, and write yourself a nice bash script to automate the process of "syncing" your podcasts to this player. Since it works like a standard drive you can write simple scripts to communicate with the device by calling tools like rsync.
