Rating: - Mostly satisfied, especially at the price
At the price (about 200 dollars), this was the printer that had most of the features I was looking for...and it pretty much lived up to all that it promised to begin with. Was delivered very fast, easy to install, looks good, laser printer, good clean prints, best thing is that it can print both sides...this helps me save paper and space for storing all the journal articles that a Ph.D. demands! Cartridge could be better, it promises to print only 2000 pages...which brings the cost to 3.5 cents per page...a little expensive. Yes, I did face one problem...after loading the software for the printer, my IE browser suddenly slowed down drastically...so I had to uninstall the scansoft and presto software...then it got OK. But then the scanning to pdf was not working, so I reinstalled presto, and it has been working well ever since. Overall, quite satisfied with all aspects of the machine...
Rating: - PERFECT - for the price I paid!
Paid $180 with no tax and free shipping. The best features are:
1. Duplex printing, duplex copying, and duplex scanning.
2. Fax from my PC or by itself.
Could be a little loud when scanning but bearable. This machine replaced an HP Laserjet 1012, Canon U670 scanner, and PC fax card. Individually I paid well over $200 for them and now for $180 I have one machine that does everything! I am able to scan and archive all kinds of documents now which was the main thing I was looking for. A document scanner with ADF costs at leat $400 dollars. This machines is probably not professional grade but I just need to scan maybe 20 pages a day which now takes two minutes compared to half an hours with the flatbed scanner (placing and replacing each page and waiting for the scanner head to return to its original position after each scan). Absolutely love this machine!!!
Rating: - Perfect Multi-Function Machine for a Small Office
This unit has everything an office needs all wrapped into a compact unit. It prints on both sides of the paper if you desire, copies, scans and faxes to perfection, and has the reliability of laser. The only limitations are that it doesn't print in color and it won't copy legal size paper (it will print legal though). The software package is excellent; it even includes a quite good optical character recognition program. The cost is amazing, barely more than the duplexing unit of some printers.
Rating: - nice fast in home office printer
This printer seems to work well. If I am printeing in bulk (>20 pages) is has gotten jammed. But this is not the inteneded use for this printer. Also, I am not sure how to turn the fax option off, other than disconnecting the phone line.
