Rating: - Great all in one printer
Had a Canon ink jet all in one machine, liked it but it stopped scanning about a year after I got it. I don't need color printing, just fast, good copies, faxing and scanning. The MF4150 was exactly what I needed. It does a great job and suites my needs perfectly. It has a much more solid build quality than the more home use class that Canon puts out. I also would suggest that the published print times are in no way comparable, even though the 2 machines are both rated at 28 ppm b&w. The MF4150 is much faster, and better print quality. Amazon provided timely shipping and at no cost! Can't believe this product is as good as it is at this price.
Rating: - good all around machine
I looked around for a while before I got this one and for what it is this is a great machine. I am a student who prints a whole lot (ream of paper just last month) and got very tired of replacing ink cartriges so I went with laser and love it. The starter toner lasted me about a month and a half (filled paper tray 3x) but some of it was pictures so that used a little more toner. There is a toner save mode whell see how that works out. It copies very quickly, prints on both sides automatically; the print is very clear and crisp, replacing the toner is easy ($68) or so and I cant think of a single negative about this thing.
copies: quickly 2 sided if you feed it back in auto document feeder works great.
Prints: perfect no compliants if you dont need to print in color this is what you need-- search around and try to find another autoduplex printer for about $200 dont think you will at least not laser.
someone else had a problem with the auto document feeder guide sticking up; when not using it take it off; it is very simple to do, when you need it put it back-- simple dont know why its like that but for everyting else this thing does who cares?
someone else said there is no outfeed guide-- yes there is it pulls out from the center of the tray and goes right back in.
In short it is what I need and works great set up is easy; the driver is a little confusing but play with it, you'll figure it out pretty quickly.
the top tilts back and will accommodate books easily (copy from glass)
a great machine for home / office / or student worth the money-- the toner is a little steep but remember other brands make you buy a drum in addition to the toner and this one includes the drum so every time you change the toner you change the drum... I was spending about $70 on black ink jet cartriges every semester and $20 on color so I have no complaints about the toner cost I figure about one or two a year for me and no "align the printhead---HP INK JET" hassle
hope someone found this helpful--- it is a great monochrome laser (no color) give it a chance it looks and works just like the big ones.
Rating: - This thing is great for the price
The MF4150 is awesome. Prints very fast. Text is crisp and clear. Graphics are pretty good. The ADF is nice for scanning a bunch of papers to PDF for reducing paper clutter. Duplexing is great. And the price was excellent for the feature set.
If I had to change anything, it'd be to add a duplexing ADF so that it could easily scan 2-sided docs, and ethernet connectivity would be nice as well. But, Ethernet can be added by buying the MF4690 (albeit for about another $100).
Rating: - Love it!
I love my new printer. My favorite feature is the duplex printing. It saves me SO much paper. Set-up was easy, print quality is excellent, and scanning was easy also. As a graduate student I print a great deal of research and have spent hours tinkering with ink jet printers. I also had to replace the ink cartridges from the ink jet printers every 2 months. I just got sick of it. When I saw this CANON printer for under $200, I just couldn't pass it up. It was one of the best purchases I have made for myself thus far in graduate school. Love it, love it, love it.
