Rating: - toner runs out almost immediately
If you don't mind spending $80 on toner every thousand pages, this is the machine for you. I get 1200 pages at most before I have to go out and buy another toner cartridge. I've had this printer for two months, and already I'm looking for another.
Rating: - Awesome
In this modern world, you usually do not get as much product or service as you pay for. This Canon all-in-one machine AND Amazon's perfect service are an unbeatable pair. The unit came in two days, and it works like a charm. I highly recommend this laser machine to anyone interested in getting a top quality machine at a very small price. They should, however, offer the unit with a full toner cartridge instead of a "starter". It is a total waste of resources.
Rating: - BAIT AND SWITCH MF4150 & MAC
After several hours of reading, installing, and trial and error, I am unable to connect my MacBook Pro to the Canon MF 4150 via airport. In my opinion, this product should NOT have the MAC compatible symbol on the box if it is not completely compitable. The downloaded drivers give me continuous error messages for both FAX and PRINT. The no recipients message is given every time I try to print. Fax is not even an option at this point. I do not recommend.
I did read the side of the box prior to purchase that the Canon stated that it had limited functionality of only fax and print (this was all I needed). Yet, it still did not work. I'm going back to my Samsung ML2550 printer (worked out of the box) and I'll buy a separate copy machine and fax machine by companies other than Canon.
I will NEVER buy another Canon in my life for any of my businesses.
Rating: - For Network Scanning You Will Need Axis 1650 Firmware Upgrade
I wanted the Canon MF4150 because of its great features and because it appeared the Axis 1650 provided network print\scan support. I have a home network and felt network printing and scanning would be great. Unfortunately, after I purchased the printer I discovered while the Axis 1650 supported network printing, both the Axis and Canon user manuals said there was no network scanning support.
However, I was persistent and today found and translated a Japanese Axis document that stated network support is enabled using firmware V2.10 or higher. I found the firmware binary version 2.12 (1650_212.Bin) downloaded and upgraded the Axis device using the link below, and now network scanning works for our pcs.
