Rating: - Very Nice, Stylish Keyboard!
Let's face it, beyond the functionality of having a wireless, bluetooth keyboard, if you are going to spend this much money on a keyboard, style is obviously important.
I have been extremely pleased with the function and form of the DiNovo Edge. Out of the box, the keyboard installed onto my system running Vista Premium with no issues. I followed the instructions included and set-up the keyboard to my preferences. After allowing it to charge overnight I was informed through the Logitech program that it had enough power to last 60 days. Really, it is about time that keyboards have joined the "rechargeable mouse" for convenience and function.
I have had no performance issues using the keyboard. The functionality is nice, and although I seldom use it, the touchpad is a nice feature for scrolling up or down a page, and quick selections. To click and select a simple tap will do, similar to what a notebook touchpad offers. The function keys allow you to customize them to your choosing and the other keys are placed logically. The pitch and stroke of the keys feel nice under your fingers and I have no typing issues. The keys are quiet and it is a pleasant working experience. My preference is to keep the keyboard flat, while my wife, likes to extend the collapsable feet to raise the keyboard slightly. Regardless of your preference, the keyboard still functions well and most importantly, allows you to type without fatigue or discomfort.
Again, the looks of this keyboard are stunning. I love the low key orange glow of the function lights and the flush "touch" volume control. The shiny black surface with aluminum palm rest compliment my desktop. As with other reviews, when you are done at the end of the day, a quick wipe down with the included cloth keeps the keyboard looking good! Just don't try to wipe it down while you are still working or all heck breaks loose. It would be nice to have a key "lock-out" function key so that you could wipe down the keyboard while your computer is still on, thus preventing any accidental key activations. In all fairness, there may be a way to do this, but it would nice to have a preprogramed key.
Finally, this keyboard does not require that it be placed in the base on a nightly basis. The charge really does last a long time and I have never had it come close to being depleted. I appreciate having the attractive base on my desktop, it offers a functional place to store the keyboard out of your way when requiring the full work space of your desktop.
If there are any drawbacks for the DiNovo Edge Keyboard, it would be the lack of a number pad on the keyboard. When you need to enter numbers, there is no replacement for having the numbers easily accessible. We do have a seperate Logitech, bluetooth number pad for this purpose but it is a little large and it usually sits inside a drawer until needed. It would be nice to see a matching, compact number pad device for the Edge keyboard. The most obvious drawback is its price. Although you can find it for around $150 on Amazon, it is still pricey for many. However, that said, I think it has performed to its price and is worth every penny. The DiNovo Edge is functional and peforms well in a attractivel, sleek package, and for me, well worth is price.
Rating: - Stylish
Bought it when it first came out and it's been over 6 months now and I love the look and feel of this keyboard... but find the touchpad to be a little finicky and the nearinfrared volume sensor goes crazy in direct sunlight making the volume go up and down on my media centre randomly so that I have to close the blinds or turn of the keyboard.
Rating: - Best Wireless Keyboard Ever
The diNovo Edge is a bit on the expensive side, but it is a great keyboard with lots of useful features. No connection issues, so I have nothing but good things to say about it!
Rating: - Do I need to re-connect again and again????
DiNovo costed me a lot and works fine if it is connected. However, everytime I restart (or turn on) my PC, I have to reconnect it manually again ... and ... again. I have called their customer service and they just said that it should reconnect automatically and did not advise any resolution. I have tried to search in trouble shooting guide but it only describes how to resolve silly problems and nothing at all. It is not my PC's problem, I have tried it in several PCs with the same problem.
Besides, it does not work well with build-in bluebooth ... as it requires connection through software setting ... how can I work with the software without a working keyboard?????
I like a keyboard that works when I start my PC!!!!
