Rating: - Looks good, feels great, but you'll need a real mouse = $300 when it's all said and done.
If you buy this keyboard you're really paying for the keys because the touchdisk is only good for light surfing. For starters, it's inconveniently located to the far right, where the number pad would be, this is not so bad for a real mouse but touch pads need to be conveniently located below the space bar like they are on laptops. This sort of makes up for them being cumbersome compared to a mouse. So, I will be purchasing a mouse next which will bring the list price to about $300 for everything. I think that's expensive. The greatest thing about this keyboard is the feel of the keys. Yes, the design is nice, it does look cool, but I'd be just as happy if the keyboard looked crappy as long as the keys feel good. These keys actually help me type faster and more accurately. The closest thing I can compare them to are laptop keyboards, and those old Compaq keyboards that used to go clack clack clack, except that these are silent. If not for the touchdisk, I'd give this product 4 stars.
Rating: - Great after working out a couple of initial quirks
Compared to other wireless keyboards, this one rates a 5+ for its stable connectivity and range, integrated mouse pad, and programmable function keys. I initially discovered a few small quirks - 1. The software that came with the keyboard inverted the zoom keys. The new software downloaded from the Logitec website fixed that. Another thin that I've noticed is that I lose the zoom function when the computer comes out of hibernate. It requires a reboot to fix it. For those of you with a multimedia system and big screen, this is ideal for operating the system from your lazy-boy from across the room. (that's what I'm doing now) I love it. Buy it. There's currently a $30 rebate too.
Rating: - Dinivo edge keyboard
Works really well easy to use however if the need arises to use your computer in safe mode, use a regular corded keyboard as a wireles one will not work in safe mode.
Rating: - Go for it, You won't regret it
After waiting for Microsoft to release its Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 which I had on order for almost a full year, I got fed up (Thanks Bill!), canceled the order and decided in early July to go with the Logitech diNovo Edge. Best decision I could have made. What a keyboard. The Bluetooth connectivity is great and the battery life is phenomenal, easily stretching battery life to 1 month or more between charges and it is used daily. I run MS Vista and have seen no issues at all. It's very cool, professional look doesn't hurt either.
I thought I might miss the numeric keypad but it really doesn't bother me much at all besides the MS keyboard is also sans numeric keypad. So unless you're an accountant and crunch numbers all day don't let that stop you. In short I love this keyboard and would do it again in a heartbeat. I also picked up the Logitech MX Revolution Bluetooth mouse. The two complement each other very nicely.
My only gripe is that the power supply went dead last week and while Logitech readily agreed to replace it under warranty I was told that they did not carry just the power supply. They wanted me to pack up and return the whole keyboard set with all parts to be replaced. Not wanting to wait for this I picked up a universal PS for 12.00 and all is well.
Note to Logitech: You might want to consider stocking separate diNovo power supplies. But I anit mad atcha.
