Rating: - disconecting from usb adapter, anoying
pros: stylish, nice looking small for htpc
cons: disconects from pc. most of the time cursor pad lags
Rating: - Cool keyboard!
I was impressed with the features. The keyboard did not enhance my laptop's capability, but it was neat! I ended up returning it.
Rating: - Great product, Some quirks
First of all as most people have said, this is a good looking, easy to use product. Have a Sony Bravia W-Series KDL-40W3000 , with a 40inch 1080p HDTV screen. I have a Dell XPS 1530 laptop which has a dedicated graphics card and 4gb memory connected to it thru hdmi. Beautiful full screen picture! I needed a good way to control the desktop and even though this keyboard is overpriced, it is nearly worth it.
Pros:
-easy bluetooth connection.
-great battery life.
Cons:
-The touchpad to control the cursor sometimes freezes. Not sure what the issue is. It comes back on within a few seconds but this can be irritating.
-Expensive. May have been worth it if it did not have the above issue.
I still gave it 3 stars becuase it is good in other aspects. I would have preferred if it had come with a trackball instead. This would have made controlling the cursor much easier.
Rating: - Great living room keyboard
I was looking for a decent keyboard for my living room PC, to use while on the couch and watching YouTube videos or just surfing the web on my big screen TV. I wanted something that wouldn't take up a lot of space and looked nice amongst my living room furniture. The diNovo, although overpriced, fit the bill. I have a separate wireless trackball mouse, which works great, so I didn't necessarily need a keyboard with a built-in mouse. I looked at the Kensington keyboard, which the keyboard alone would have been perfect - extremely compact - but it came packaged with not only a separate mouse (one more mouse I didn't need) but also a separate keypad, which I also didn't need. So the diNovo it was ...
It looks great in my living room. The docking station is relatively easy to use - although I have to jostle a little bit to get the connectors lined up right (I'll probably get used to that over time) - and also looks nice beneath my wall-mounted TV.
I would only use this as a part-time living room keyboard, not for any sort of long-term or power use. It seems to be designed for living room use, not for office use. What works well in the living - slim, flat design - wouldn't work well in the office. I have a fully ergonomic Kinesis keyboard in the office. Switching from that to the flat, unergonomic diNovo would be a carpal-tunnel inducing nightmare.
I'm not crazy about the mouse. It feels very limiting, like you have to scroll over and over to get anywhere, and the page scrolling wheels/buttons on the top and right of the trackpad are difficult. So I'll probably keep my wireless trackball mouse plugged in and switch back and forth, depending on what I'm doing. For light use the integrated diNovo mouse will be fine, but I foresee getting old quickly with any heavy use.
The setup was amazingly simple. The usb connection worked immediately and the software installed in a snap. Probably the simplest hardware install ever, actually.
A good purchase for my specific needs. I would definitely consider other wireless keyboards for office use. If you don't like the idea of the integrated mouse, check out the wireless Kensington keyboard. That one - the keyboard itself - is about half the size and cheaper to boot.
