Rating: - Works great, but doesn't cover as much ground as I'd like
This products works great, if you install it properly. I have a 5 bar signal on my roof, but 0-2 bars in the house. So I put the antenna on the roof, ran the cable down the side of my house and into the basement, where I then ran the cable straight across from where it enter the house to a point in the center of my basement. It's now right in the center of the house, just below the ceiling.
In the basement, we now get between 2-5 bars, and on the first floor, we get 1-4.
This claims to cover 2500 sq ft, and we have an 1800 sq ft house... but it doesn't cover the whole thing very well. When you're in the basement in the room beside where it is, it works great (5 bars)... but if you go into the first floor and away from the center of the house, you sometimes drop down to 1-2 bars.
We have NOT had a dropped call since we got it, which is a HUGE improvement, but I was hoping for more than a 1-2 bar signal when I'm 30 feet away from it. It does work well enough though that I'd recommend it to anybody
Rating: - Not very good.
This product didn't work well. It had virtually no range, or signal improvement. i returned it and changed cell providers: much better and cheaper results.

I bought the YX510 over two months ago; only a handful of successful calls so far. I can still get a better signal on my phone by setting it in an upstairs window than I can with this unit's antenna mounted on the roof above it. Worse, the signal rises and drops during calls. I've spent hours with Wi-ex customer service, and they replaced the base unit once (it also ran a bit hot). The second unit displays notably different behavior in the operational lights. Customer service seems to ignore calls and emails for a bit, then suddenly get very active and sympathetic. They confirmed the correctness of the installation, and are suggesting I need a directional antenna. I'm reluctant to spend even more time and money on this, especially given the nearby electric wires and 25-30' of ladder required! Apparently, this thing works only in certain situations, and unfortunately, I tried too long to make it work, and now can't return it. BTW, I noticed a "dealer" on Wi-Ex's web site that wasn't too far away. I called; no answer; I couldn't leave a message because his voice mail mailbox "was full". Not an auspicious omen.
Rating: - Works But Not As Advertised
We decided to pick up this device as one of the guys in the office is getting a home office and has poor cell phone reception in his basement. Seeing the 2500 sq feet range, we thought that this would be a great item to get to help with his cell phone.
Setup went fine, getting a signal to his phone did not. Installation was just connecting co-ax cable to the base unit and the antenna. We made sure the base was the proper distance away from the antenna and tried the phone. No signal. Tried moving the box and still no signal. Moved the box to within feet of the phone and finally picked up a signal.
I can say that this does get you a signal, but the 2500 sq feet should read more like 2.5 sq feet, if that.
