Rating: - Quiet, fast and beautifull...
Awesome hard drive. The finishing reminds the samsumg lcd televisions. Beautifull brilliant black with rounded corners.
Very quiet. You can't hear any noise even when accessing large amount of data from or to it.
Data is written and read very fast... faster then my buit-in 40GB laptop hd.
I just had a problem with my laptop, which does not give enough power from one USB port. So I had to buy another USB cable with two inputs, since the hard drive comes with a single input cable.
But this is my laptop problem, with my desktop I didn't have any power issue, using the cable originally sold with the HD.

My objective was to buy the largest 2.5 portable harddrive available. I found it in the Western Digital.
Elegant shiney black case, a blue LED circle light, with only 1 cable, I have no complaints towards performance or looks.
I own a larger 320gb but i needed something with no power cable, this is the LEXUS of 2.5 portable harddrives. It even has backup software on it, but I'm not sure I will use it or not.
Rating: - No Power Booster Cable
This is a very good drive but be aware that it does not work with all USB ports - a lot of them will not supply enough power to run the drive so you will need the power booster cable WDCA029RNN which connects to 2 USB ports to get enough power to the drive. The pity is that WD do not include this as standard since quite a number people buying this item will actually need it to run the drive. Rating: - An excellent purchase
The product was bought from Best Buy in excellent condition. The only problem I had with it was that my computer did not recognize it at first, but after a few tries it picked up excellently. I never had any data failures or malfunctions. For 160 GB, an excellent buy that I would make again if the thing wasn't so small; though convenient it left my unit privy to thieves.
