If the description of the Kindle had been more explicit, I would not have wasted the money on a second power adapter.

If you have a Kindle you definitely need this. It is a good buy for the money.
Rating: - Why isn't this device compatable with more generic chargers
I find that companies that make proprietary chargers are creating waste at the expense of their secondary profit source. I have tried a small tip charger, as well as a generic usb connection in order to charge the device before investing in yet another charging device.
It looks like the iGo is compatable as well as a knock off company sold on Amazon, but shame on Amazon for not building this feature into this $400 device.
Onto having to spend money on yet another similar charger in order to read my books and keep adding to the pile of cords in my office.
