Rating: - Nuvi 350: Not worth the money
I had a TomTom One and was looking for something with a few more features so, after reading the reviews on Amazon, I took the plunge and bought one. However, I am very disappointed with the Garmin Nuvi 350. First of all, it takes FOREVER to find a satellite. This is very annoying. Second, once the battery is drained and needs recharging you cannot use the GPS functions while the unit is charging.! Are you kidding me? Who are the idiots who designed this thing? So there you are, in the middle of nowehere, and you can't use your Garmin Nuvi 350 because the battery needs charging. In contrast, my TomTom One can be used while it is charging in the car. Third, the TomTom user interface is much more intuitive and faster to navigate.
Don't waste your money. I sold my Nuvi 350 but am keeping my TomTom. Note: I am NOT in any way affiliated with TomTom; I just think TomTom makes a better GPS unit.
Rating: - Doesn't work
Simple as that. It will not accept inputs to the "Enter address" option. It hangs up at street number and won't allow me to go further. Contacting Garmin is a nightmare of web inputs and when I call service (Dec 24th) there's no answer on the web-listed 971 number and the 800 number is "out of the holidays." I suspect it has a bad software module, but I suspect it will take me more labor-hours to reach these people than the unit is worth.
My suggestion: buy a Tom-tom.

Rating: - good
i've not had any major problems with it except that the speaker is not loud for direction giving but quite loud when you are playing your mp3.
i like the fact that you know the exact name of the next turn.
a good buy overall.

Did a lot of comparison shopping! Excellent model number for the value!
Garmin has always been the most reliable GPS regardless of which model you buy!
