Rating: - Obsolete card...!!!
I was dreaming to use this card with the new upgrade that I did to my computer and Opps!, I could not plug the card inside. I did an upgrade to P4 using a new D850GB Intel Mother Board (MB) and this card doesn't fit in the MB AGP bus because the card doesn't have the same "cuts" on its AGP conector like the one on the AGP slot on the MB. The AGP slot on the MB has a guide (near one side like PCI slot) that should enters in the card. The card has only one "cut" near the other side and this doesn't match the MB slot conector. The D815GB is only compatible with "AGP Pro50 interface (50 W maximum); backward compatible with 1.5 V AGP video cards. This option uses an AGP Pro 1.5 V connector, also known as an AGP Pro50 connector" (from manual...) and I thing this card is not compatible. On the card's box you can read only that this card has an "AGP Universal Bus" and now I don't really know who is the standar although the MB is newer than the 3d card. So, I had to buy anothe newer 3D card (with 2 cuts on its conector) in order to use it in my new system and I'm now using the Voodoo3 card to scratch my back.
Rating: - Do Not Buy This
I'm sure someone has made this comment before in these reviews. .... There are so many better graphics cards that are cheaper like a lower end Radeon or lower end geforce. Not only that but 3dfx went out of business, so there is not support for this product anymore. I owned a voodoo3, and now I own a voodoo5 5500. The voodoo5 [isn't good] (except if you want to play games that are supported with glide). I had a choice between that and the Geforce2, and I made the wrong decision. In summary, while this was a good card 2 years ago, it is in the computer stone age now, and the company that makes it no longer exists. I rest my case.
Rating: - EXCELLENT CARD WHO APPRECIATES 3DFX
I've been using voodoo series video cards for quite some time for playing games, wathing dvd (etc.)and always been satisfied with their performance with any kind of windows based applications. The best part about the VOODOO 3 3500/2000/3000, their compatible with every game in the market, but forget about intel motherboards.WHY? Intel chipset based motherboards unfortunetly lack support for few games i've known so far(roque spear, etc.)and most intel fanatics blame on other parts of the computer(video card/sound/processor), but not considering that so called "INTEL" is not a godess or a close match. I own both Voodoo 3 3500/2000 agp series and their perform above their specifications(no doubt). Voodoo 3500 is a great performer in almost anything: tv out is fine/tv tuner is more than fine no complaints so far.
Rating: - Not the Cadillac, but very reliable
I have just spent another long night attempting to upgrade my computer with "better" equipment, and I finally put back my trusty, reliable, Voodoo 3 3500 TV. Why did I ever take this out when, for the most part, it has run flawlessly in two completely different computers of mine. Granted the MPEG recording leaves alot to be desired, but who needs it, I'll just record things I want to save on my VCR. Just a warning to those who feel that spending big bucks on ATI cards guarantees success, don't kid yourselves, this Voodoo card is like an AK-47, it may not be as "impressive" as ATI's M-16 (The All-In-Wonder, "I wonder why I bought it", Radeon), but you can drop this baby in the mud and it'll keep on firing. ATI's card wouldn't work at all in my new machine, but its just a no-name computer, "Its just an HP, who's ever heard of that?".
